Merry Christmas

To our dear friends & family,

Merry Christmas!  As the year comes to a close Geoff and I are looking back and thinking "Whoa what a ride!"  This season we are keenly aware of the blessings God has given our family.  We dearly miss Boston and all the people we love there.  However, we are enjoying our new apartment, and the living room looks much more homey with our beautiful christmas tree in front of the window.  We've had family visit which has made this feel like more like home.

We are blessed to have met some great friends who have made the transition much easier.  We've also enjoyed spending more time with Geoff's brother Brendan and his girlfriend Lacie.  It's a blessing to have some family close by.

I'm settling nicely into my job.  There have been delays in the opening of my home unit, however there will be a place for us in other Pediatric areas if there is not in the ICU and once my unit opens I will move there.  I'm really enjoying being a nurse and am becoming comfortable in my new role.  I knew when I started school that nursing was where God was sending me, though even during school I never imagined how perfect a fit this was for me.  I'm truly thankful that I've been given this opportunity.

After 4 months of praying and looking Geoff has just started his new job!  He will be managing a residential facility here in Cleveland that serves adolescent girls who are aging out of the foster care system.  They will be teaching independent living skills in order to prevent homelessness.  He's super excited about this opportunity, and it seems that this will be a place he can really grow as a social worker.  This is exactly the "step forward" for him that we've been praying for.

We'd love to hear from you and remember we have a guest room equipped with all the comforts of home.  When will you be visiting?  We pray that you have a blessed Christmas and a wonderful 2010.  Hope to see you soon!

Love, Lyzz & Geoff
