New Ministry Plans YAY! :)

So I'm really excited about 2 new ministry opportunities God is leading me into this coming fall. They are related, but operating at different places.

My church is planning a sister site in Downtown Boston (we are in Cambridge a little north of Boston). The first service will be in September, so we are pushing hard for everything to come together in the next few months. God is doing some amazing things to make that happen. For months now God has been pushing me to ask about the SEEK team and possibly leading it, so I finally took the leap and I'm now leading (possibly co-leading) the SEEK team at the Boston site. I put a paragraph at the end of this post describing SEEK and Alpha in case you've never heard of them. So I would love your prayers for a few things in relation to this.
  • God lifts up a team of people who are excited about leading SEEK at the new site
  • God would be preparing the hearts of people He plans to take this class
  • That this new area of leading would be a blessing to me and that I would be a blessing to others through it
  • That the details of planning and preparing a sister site in Boston would go smoothly for the entire team
The second ministry that I'm excited about is on my campus (University of Massachusetts Boston). I'm going to be one of two Outreach Coordinators. I'm also hoping to start Alpha on campus next year sometime as a part of this. I really want to see God transforming people at school. I want it to be more than just a place people go for class then leave, I want them to see God there! So if you could pray that I would see how God wants that ministry to look and that I would have the tools to make that happen I'd appreciate it!

A little about SEEK and Alpha: SEEk is my church's version of Alpha. It is a 10 week class geared toward those not following Jesus yet and those who are new to faith. It looks at difficult and practical ways that Jesus is relevent today and what walking with him looks like in day to day life. I took it soon after I decided to follow Jesus, and it was a amazing and transforming time for me and the same is true for almost anyone I know that has taken it. Here is what my church says about it: http://cambridgevineyard.org/offerings/seek.htm And here is the Alpha website: http://alpha.org/

  1. Awesome Lyzz, just awesome! Go for it! Lead the SEEK, disciple people for Jesus, change lives, change communities, change cities, change nations.
Acts 19:10/This took place for two years, so that all who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.
